Pete was raised in a Christian home and became a believer at seven. After graduating High School, he spent a year in Argentina serving in several capacities with the missionaries there. Upon returning he went to work for General Electric Co. Six months later he was promptly drafted into the Army. When released after his tour, Pete went back to G.E. where he worked as Executive Chauffeur including the security of passengers. After this, Security is where Pete spent most of the rest of his career with several separate business adventures mixed in, including working in churches as custodian. For the last several years Pete has worked in the Facilities Operations here at MBC. Another of those ventures has been his ministry with his wife in music for more than twenty years now.

Jesus Diaz, native San Diegan, is married to church member Maria E. Diaz for 30 years and has two sons Patrick Diaz (27) married to Laci Diaz, and Jesus Diaz Jr. (25) known as "JR."  Jay is currently employed by Helix Charter High School and La Mesa Police Reserves. He is the Lead Campus Officer at Helix and has been involved in school law enforcement for 10 years and municipal law enforcement for 28 years.  As a member at Meridian Baptist, Jay is involved in M3 Men’s Ministry, Director of Church Security, and Chairman of the Budget Control Committee.  “My family and I have been blessed being a part of this exciting church.”

I am so happy to have been lead to the Ministry Assistant position here at Meridian Baptist Church. I am a newly widowed, mother of two young adult children and the grandmother of one (so far) almost perfect baby boy.  My life has been turned upside down in the past year and a half with the trial of my husband's leukemia and then his passing. Through these trials I have really learned to lean on Him for every little thing. Doors were opened for me to move to California from Texas to be with my kids. Now I am in His arms and in His service, trusting and following His every prompting, Spirit lead and Spirit filled and ready to Serve at Meridian!
