Pastor Walter Love has been serving as pastor of Teach and Worship since May of 2007. He has a passion for worship and prayer. His desire is to see the people of God worship in spirit and in truth. “We cannot come into the presence of God unless He is pleased with us and brings us into His presence.” Pastor Walter was ordained 1986 and has been serving Southern Baptist congregations in the areas of Pastoral Ministries, Worship Arts, Christian Education, and Youth Ministries for more than 29 years. Pastor Walter has a B.S. Information Technology and an M.B.A. with emphasis in technology management.
Thomas Pittman is the Director of Student Services at Southern California Seminary (SCS) where he also received the Master of Divinity degree earning Academic Distinction. He graduated as the Valedictorian at San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College) earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Bible Exposition with a perfect 4.0gpa. Thomas is an 8 year Navy veteran and attained the rank of Engineman 2nd class, Surface Warfare. Prior to coming to Meridian Thomas was a small group leader, choir member, and Deacon at Shadow Mountain Community Church. Mr. Pittman is currently pursuing a Master of Theology degree at SCS with future plans towards a PhD. Thomas is recently married and his wife is active at Meridian as a pre-school teacher.
Pastor Garry Parker is an ordained member of the pastoral staff and has been effective in ministering to Young Adults and the inner city community. He has a strong belief in ministering to the practical needs of the people as well as showing the applicability of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our life. He founded The Watchmen Ministry, a community focused ministry that began in the Meadowbrook Apartments of Southeastern San Diego, and has served as Executive Director since its inception in 2004. Pastor Parker has a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, a B.A. in Management, an M.B.A. with an emphasis in the Management of Information Systems and is currently pursuing a second Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies. His ministerial experience over the years includes starting and leading several ministries: Greeters, Altar Care, Men’s Ministry, Block Party, Food Distribution, Young Adults, as well as performing pastoral care visitations throughout the county.
